About
I do two things at UEA:
~ I am a member of the teaching team for the MA in Higher Education Practice, which is a professional development program provided for newly appointed academic staff.
~ And I am part of a research project (Ensemble) that is investigating the potential of semantic tools for case-based learning in higher education.
In the wider world I am interested in the design of educational spaces (actual, virtual and hybrid) and I am writing on the theme of 'Journeys into Spaces' - connected case studies that are looking at the architectural design and pedagogical occupancy of educational spaces (classrooms, screen-scapes and curricula spaces). As I write these pieces I'll post them here as papers.
I also have an informal role supporting action research for the charity 'Red Balloon'. Red Balloon currently has a project called 'Red Balloon of the Air' - which is developing a distance/hybrid version of its program to recover education for secondary school students who have been severely bullied at school.
The photo is of me trying to explain my identity in David Gauntlett's Serious Lego seminar.
