Prof. Lyndsey Stonebridge

About

My project is an introduction to the work and life of understudied mid-twentieth century writer, A.L. Barker, focusing on her representations of the figure of the child and the relationship(s) between innocence and experience as a 'fundamental principle' of her oeuvre.

From October 2011-April 2013 my research will be funded by a UEA School of Literature and Creative Writing Studentship.

In March 2012 I will visit the A. L. Barker archive at the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center at the University of Texas at Austin. http://www.hrc.utexas.edu/research/fellowships/recipients/2011/

I am part of a reading group at UEA focusing on out-of-print writers. The other members are Nonia Williams, Diane Freeborn and Lydia Fellgett. We are co-organising a conference, 'Out of Print' to be held at UEA on 16th September 2011. For more information please see our website, http://outofprintconference.co.uk/
